Welcome to SWE’s Community Page!
One of the integral parts of SWE is the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and build lasting relationships. Thus, the goal of our Community Committee is to host social events that focus on meeting new people, having fun, and finding more recreational activities to participate in. The socials are enjoyable activities that allow us to network in a setting outside of the usual professional events.
The Community Committee is dedicated to bringing in new members to become a part of the UNM chapter of SWE. We are also excited to help plan the year-round meetings by including fun activities and themes. Via the mentorship program we plan to begin this fall, we hope to encourage camaraderie within our club.
Last year, the Community Committee planned special events which helped bring the group closer. These activities included: painting pumpkins, tie dying T-shirts, and celebrating “Galentine’s” Day. Due to some COVID-19 restrictions, we may move many of our events and meetings online this school year. Some social distancing events we hope to host include: Kahoot games, Jackbox games, and trivia.
