How to Join

University of New Mexico SWE Chapter Membership

Members of the UNM SWE section are required to pay a $15 annual membership fee to cover the costs of a section t-shirt and meeting prizes. Additionally, only UNM SWE members who have paid the $15 section fee will be eligible to earn points and be considered to attend conference at the expense of SWE UNM. The section fee can be paid by visiting our ​online shop!

National SWE Membership

In addition to membership in the local UNM SWE chapter, we highly encourage our members to register as national SWE members.

As a registered national SWE member, you gain access to members-only events including networking events, career search portals, webinars, conferences, and more. Additionally, only registered national SWE members can run for an executive officer positions within UNM SWE. National SWE offers additional benefits to members, including:

  • Eligibility for scholarships. More than $800,000 is awarded each year.
  • SWE Career Center for internship and full-time employment search and career planning.
  • Networking opportunities with practicing women engineers and other collegiates.
  • An opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills.
  • Regularly scheduled meetings that allow you to get advice from fellow members on everything from time management to graduate schools, all while making lifelong friendships.

National Membership Cost

Collegiate to Career (C2C) – $50
One time payment for membership that will last throughout a members college career plus one additional year of professional membership after graduating. All students are required to have an expected graduation date on their account.

Collegiate – $20
Annual membership for college students majoring in engineering or a STEM field.
